Over the years i have suffered several master hdd crashes. If there's one thing it teaches you it is to back up anything you consider valuable, which i now do relatively regularly. However i always forget to back my favourites. So think of this more as an online organised version of my favourites, some of which you might find interesting/useful.

Crimson editor	Code editor, like notepad but beefier
Camtasia	Record the screen as you see it, good for tutorials
winamp	Organiser for your music, better for quickly making playlists
itunes	Organiser for your music, better all rounder
DVD decrypter	Backup DVDs to your hdd. Development has unfortunately ceased on this project for legal reasons
You send it	Use to send large files to people if you have no hosting of your own
AutoGK	Encode backed-up DVDs with a codec to reduce their filesize
DivX player	Essential DivX codec and player for video files

Less useful programs

Programs which are somewhat interesting, but not at all essential
